Wednesday, August 27 Community Dinner at Panciuto's
Full Description:
The next Community Dinner will celebrate the fleeting summer with a dinner using late August’s finest fruits and vegetables. On Wednesday, August 27th, we are happy to introduce to you, and have with us, Helga and Tim MacAller of Four Leaf Farm. Tim grew up in Los Angeles and came to farming via his Degree in Botany. Helga was genetically predisposed to farming. Her parents, both her sets of grandparents, as well as all of her maternal uncles, were farmers in Denmark. When she came to NC in 1979, she fell in love with farming and Tim, and they have been farming off and on ever since. For those of you that don’t already know it, their produce is absolutely amazing, plucked right from Eden.
What we do on these nights is host one long “community” table where everyone is seated. Food is passed, conversation is lively, and the evening is highlighted by our special guests. Tim and Helga will join us to discuss themselves, their farm, farming in a small space, local eating, and why it’s so important to pass on these skills and knowledge to the next generation.
They welcome your interest, questions, and discussion before and during dinner.
The restaurant doors will open at 7pm, dinner will begin around 7:30, and Tim and Helga will be speak some time in between. Please be prepared to engage, as your participation is paramount to the success of these evenings.
The cost of this dinner is $55 per person (this includes tax, tip, food and wine). Please reserve your spot now as we can only seat 32. Call us at 732-6261 for a reservation.
The menu I’m thinking about but haven’t committed to is as follows… Cool fried chicken Scalloped tomatoes and eggplant Ricotta and roasted pepper mac and cheese Grilled green beans Little greens or watermelon salad Blueberry tart with oat streusel topping Double chocolate pistachio cookies
