9am-1pm Gold Park Construction Site. Help ensure Hillsborough’s watersheds are free of litter. To receive orange garbage bags, gloves and safety vests for a cleanup,
contact Hackett at 245-2588 or thackett@co.orange.nc.us or Public Works
Supervisor Ken Hines at 732-1270 Ext. 78 or
ken.hines@hillsboroughnc.org. Hines will arrange for collection of the
filled orange garbage bags within town limits.
Safety tips and letters or certificates for those needing community
service hours also are available.
This will be the third year that Hillsborough has participated in N.C.
Big Sweep. The town will provide a truck and Public Works employees to
pick up the trash collected.

N.C. Big Sweep started 20 years ago as a component of the International
Coastal Cleanup and has grown into a statewide effort to clean up litter
and to educate the public.
Gold Park is located at 415 Dimmocks Mill Road, west of Allison Street.
It is in the sharp curve of Dimmocks Mill Road, just south of the
railroad trestle. The public is encouraged not to visit the site at
other times during construction because of associated hazards.
