Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held in Hillsborough at St. Mathews Episcapol Church at 210 St. Marys Road. They are on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's from 8-9pm. Monday's and Wednesday's are closed mettings and Friday's are open meetings. The Hillsborough Garden Club is open to all residents of this Orange County area. Club is active in community activities including Colonial Christmas Tour, Spring Garden Tour, Community Garden, Public Gardens and public programs. Educational programs on garden therapy, horticulture, environmental issues, community gardens, etc. Meetings are the second Thursday of every month at various public sites and private homes. Neighbor House of Hillsborough, Inc is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose basic mission is to foster an awareness of and to shelter and feed the homeless and hungry residents of North Orange County. Food for All is a feeding program implemented by Neighbor House of Hillsborough as a means of establishing a relationship with homeless residents.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to serve others by helping to instill value in young people and prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

Known as OCIM, the membership is made up of delegates from over 40 local congregations who work together to help feed and clothe folks in crisis. The membership meetings are the first Monday of March, June, September and December at local congregations. A Thrift Shop helps support the mission with proceeds of the sale of donated items. Meals-on-Wheels are delivered to local clients by volunteer drivers. Volunteers are always welcome.

Ongoing. OA is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. Tarheel Depression Glass Club offers a chance to get together with people who enjoy collecting, buying and selling depression era glass, china, pottery, kitchen gadgets, etc. The club meets the 1st Monday of each month in Hillsborough, usually in the Carr Building at 7:30 pm where we have have discussions, a short program by a member on subject of their choice and refreshments. The Alliance for Historic Hillsborough is an umbrella organization of seven groups that work to preserve, enhance, and increase awareness of the historical and cultural heritage of Hillsborough for residents and visitors. The AHH administers the town of Hillsborough's tourism program and operates the Orange County Visitors Center housed in the Alexander Dickson House (c.1790).

Boy Scout Troop 467 is in Orange County between Hillsborough and Durham. We meet Tuesday nights at 7:00 at Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. The troop camps every month. Boy Scouting is for boys who are 11 or have finished the 5th grade and are not yet 18.
