A Helping Hand

Full Description:

A Helping Hand is an 11-year-old nonprofit organization, founded in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and established in order to meet a need in the community assisting the elderly and disabled. A Helping Hand has reached out to fill this need by providing escorted transportation and home care to senior citizens and those who are permanently or temporarily disabled in Orange, Durham, Chatham, and western Wake counties. We are pleased to announce we have opened a new office in the Hillsborough community! Located in the New Sharon United Methodist Church, we are looking for both new clients to assist and new companions to assist them! Our services run on a grant-funded, sliding fee scale based on income level and need. Additionally we have a respite care program offering tired caregivers a weekly break from tending to a loved one in their home. We have openings for both volunteer and paid companion positions.
